4 For example " The Interlinear Bible," the " Two Version Bible " and the " Parallel Bible " in order of increasing bulk. The first has the advantage, in addition to the arrangement of the text, of using R.V. references, which are much superior to A.V. references.
5 For example, in the letter to the Romans, the word logizomai, which the A.V. renders capriciously by " think," " count," " conclude," " reckon," " impute," " account," " esteem " ; the R.V. nearly consistently by " reckon," to the great advantage of our understanding.
6 For example, in rendering the word " being " in Phil. 2: 6 as " Greek : being originally " in the margin, in the evident interest of a theory of Jesus' pre-existence, in face of the evident sense of the 40 odd other occurrences, and particularly of 1 Cor. 11 : 7, where the construction is identical, and the topic closely related.
7 Young is better known, cheaper and (because printed in this country) more easily available. Its presentation of the original word in the body of the concordance, each passage being listed under its own original, is a little simpler than Strong's method of listing all the English words together and denoting the difference in the original by a number which must be compared with a code at the back. On the other hand, Strong's code is also a useful Lexicon in brief. Either is a sufficient tool for our needs; both is a pleasant luxury.
