THIS volume is published by the Office of the christadelphian
in co-operation with the Christadelphian Auxiliary Lecturing
Society. The latter, supported by contributions from individuals
and ecclesias, has, to quote its Rules, " for its object
the furtherance of the Truth as it is in Jesus, by lecturing,
distribution of literature, and in any other way that may
be approved by the committee. The Society desires to direct
its efforts chiefly to those places where the Truth is not
being proclaimed; or where there is no organized ecclesia;
or where the brethren are not in a position to undertake public
effort."
This
book, then-the details of its preparation are given in the
Preface-has been prepared to help forward the work of carrying
the Gospel to others. There is need for all our powers to
be developed and used in one or other of the many forms of
this work. The book is of interest to all, and will be profitable
to most.
It
is probable that there will be an interval between the Second
World War and the Final Conflict depicted in the Scriptures
as associated with the Lord's appearing, and during this interval
there will be opportunity for a final witness. The conditions
in the world-apathy, pleasure seeking, etc.- may make the
task of those who bear the message, whether at a door or on
a platform, not an easy one. But whether people hear or forbear,
to us who have heard is the injunction given-Let him that
heareth say, Come. It is in the context of the prophecy of
the last days' perilous times that the command is found: Preach
the Word.
That
this book may contribute to the fulfilment of the command
is the desire of all concerned with its production.
